Starting A New Chapter With Allen & Unwin

Hey guys,

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet lately with the book blogging. Thing have been rather hectic here in my little part of the world. We had my 22nd birthday celebrations, I’m getting ready to move house next month, my best friend came to stay for a few weeks and I’ve been working towards getting this new job…

YOUR GIRL NOW WORKS FOR ALLEN & UNWIN!

*Dies from happiness*

So it turns out dreams do come true, especially when the second interview happens to land on your birthday (thank you universe – best birthday gift ever). When life throws an opportunity your way you just have to take it. I’m so excited to be joining the team on Wednesday as the new National Accounts Coordinator. I’m a little nervous, though I think everyone is on their first day of a new job right?

Anyway, this is going to be a lot of fun. Hard work. But fun. Spending my days working with books…the dream. And it turns out sometimes having a eclectic resume of jobs can help you get there. So if you want to move into a new industry, if there’s somewhere you want to be but you think your resume doesn’t fit, APPLY ANYWAY!

You never know what could come of it! Someone could give you that chance, that job that gets you in the door.

Now obviously to protect everyone now that I work for a publisher I have to put out a little disclaimer that all my reviews and my opinions are my own, they do not reflect nor are they influenced by my new employer, Allen & Unwin.

Gotta keep us all protected y’all.

I’ve always wanted to work for a publisher, to learn more about the industry and get involved on the other side of the glass as they say. So here’s to a new adventure in the publishing industry.

Until next time,

Catherine

Over the last few weeks I’ve been going through Over the last few weeks I’ve been going through some heavy duty editing of my novel which has been so rewarding seeing it come together better than ever. But being sick this week I took a break and drew out the world map and Academy map from my book which was a lot of fun. Looking forward to finishing these edits in the next month so I can start sharing with beta readers!! ✨#editing #mapmaking #fantasymap #fantasynovel #fantasybook #novel #writer #currentlywriting #betareaders #novelwriting #manuscript #manuscriptedits

In the spirit of reconciliation I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
