November is just around the corner and with it comes some fantastic books, so I just had to share my most anticipated reads for the month. Get keen for worlds full of warmth and war with this list! Here is what I’m excited to read publishing in November:
The Unfortunate Side Effects of Heartbreak and Magic
For fans of Practical Magic and Gilmore Girls, this is a debut novel that explores the shields we build around our hearts to retain our own magic. Sadie Revelare has always believed that the curse of four heartbreaks that accompanies her magic would be worth the price. But when her grandmother is diagnosed with cancer with only weeks to live, and her first heartbreak, Jake McNealy, returns to town after a decade, her carefully structured life begins to unravel.
I am part of the way into this book already (hooray for ARCs right!) and it is so gorgeously cosy its like a comforting warm hug. It just makes you want to curl up in bed with a cup of tea and some cookies and read long into the wee hours of the night.
Breanne also has a super fun TikTok account, and runs The Witches of Whimsy Bookclub!
Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop
Yeongju did everything she was supposed to, go to university, marry a decent man, get a respectable job. Then it all fell apart. Burned out, Yeongju abandons her old life, quits her high-flying career, and follows her dream. She opens a bookshop. In a quaint neighbourhood in Seoul, surrounded by books, Yeongju and her customers take refuge. From the lonely barista to the unhappily married coffee roaster, and the writer who sees something special in Yeongju – they all have disappointments in their past. The Hyunam-dong Bookshop becomes the place where they all learn how to truly live.
This sounds like such a gorgeous, heart-warming story and the healing power of books. I’m really looking forward to this one as I’ve loved the Before the Coffee Gets Cold series and this feels like a full novel version of the feelings I felt in those books (minus the time travel of course). I mean who doesn’t love a cosy read set in a bookshop!!
I’ve got my copy which I will share my thoughts on in due course, but if you can’t wait for a review, check out this review from Good Reading Magazine.
Iron Flame
This is such a hotly anticipated sequel! I am part way through reading Fourth Wing and it is so much fun. Who doesn’t love a fantasy novel full of dragons, mysterious bad boys and witty banter.
With a tag line of Burn. It. Down. I’m feeling nervous for this sequel. Though I’ll need to finish reading Fourth Wing first ahead of its release. The hardest part might be trying to avoid spoilers on TikTok thanks to the outpouring of love for this series on the platform.
The Hurricane Wars
So first off doesn’t this book have the most gorgeous cover, look at those colours!! This is book 1 in a new series, featuring enemies-to-lovers romance on the backdrop of an epic war between the light and darkness. Briming with magic and a lot of tension this one is sounding like a read that will sweep me off my feet. A political marriage of convince romantasy. Sign me the hell up!
So there you go, my anticipated reads for November. Are any of these on your reading list? With these releases just around the corner I know what I’ll be adding to my TBR when I curl up in bed with a book after work. So many cosy and fantasy romance reads I just don’t know where I’ll start!
Happy Reading,
